Allergy testing is a vital tool available to allergy sufferers, which is used to identify specific allergens.  Once specific allergens are identified, the health care practitioner can create
a treatment  plan aimed at managing or even eliminating allergy symptoms.  These tests are the most current and accurate methods of allergen identification, providing an evidence-based
 approach to allergy care.

Allergy skin tests are a safe, fast, painless, and accurate method to identify the allergens that trigger a patient’s allergy symptoms.  Typically, allergy skin tests are used to uncover reactions
to potential allergens such as trees, shrubs, weed and grass pollens, molds, household dust and dust mites, animal dander and feathers, certain foods, medications, and insect venom.
Advanced food allergy testing is available through blood tests.

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is the most advanced hormone replacement therapy for the treatment of hormone deficiencies caused by menopause.  What makes BHRT unique is that it utilizes only the molecules that are identical to the endogenous hormones found in the human body.  The primary bioidentical hormones replaced in menopausal women, estradiol and progesterone, are available in both FDA-approved and individualized pharmacy-compounded products.

Reduced production of estradiol in menopausal women is associated with many symptoms, including hot flashes, vaginal dryness, poor memory, insomnia, anxiety and depression.  Estrogen replacement has been shown to relieve these symptoms and to slow or partially reverse several medical disorders that are associated with the loss of estradiol, including osteoporosis, vaginal atrophy, memory imparement, and depression.

A bone density test, also called densitometry or DEXA scan, can determine if a patient either has osteoporosis or is at risk of osteoporosis.  A bone density test uses special X-rays to
measure how many grams of calcium and other bone minerals are packed into a segment of bone.  A bone density test is the most accurate and common test used as a predictor of
osteoporosis risk.  Furthermore, the results of a bone density test can reveal how a patient compares with other people of the same age, sex, or other similar characteristics.

Osteoporosis refers to a condition that is characterized by bones that are less dense and thus weaker than normal bones.  Osteoporosis increases the risk of bone fractures, even with
minor trauma, such as a fall from standing height or even from a cough or sneeze.  Unfortunately, people often do not realize they have osteoporosis until they have a fracture, at which
point the bones are already significantly weakened.  It is important to test for osteoporosis before and during its onset so that preventative or curative measures can be taken.

Bowen therapy is an innovative healing technique, which helps to resolve symptoms of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain, and other debilitating conditions for which there seems to be little hope of relief.  Bowen therapy can help with symptoms such as pain, fatigue, brain fog, depression, insomnia, and impaired immune or endocrine function.  Bowen Therapy is effective in acute injury conditions as well as chronic situations, such as back pain from arthritis.

Bowen therapy involves very light rolling across muscles by the practitioner, who utilizes the pads of the fingers and thumbs to stimulate and initiate strong internal energy flows.  These energy flows translate into a safe, rapid, whole-body balancing and self-healing process that is deeply relaxing and energizing. Force is not applied.  Bowen therapy has consistently proven to remove or control symptoms, as well as improve daily function, allowing the patient to lead a more normal life. For many, the results are truly life-changing.  Bowen therapy is featured in Oprah’s O magazine as an “innovative body therapy, the rolling movements prompting certain cells to send a signal to the brain that produces muscular relaxation.”

An echocardiogram is a test in which ultrasound is used to examine the heart.  In addition to providing single-dimension images, the echocardiogram also offers far more sophisticated and
advanced imaging, referred to as “two-dimensional (2-D) echo.” A 2-D Echocardiogram is capable of displaying a cross-sectional "slice" of the beating heart, including the chambers, valves
and the major blood vessels that exit from the left and right ventricles.

During an echocardiogram, sticky patches (electrodes) are attached to the chest and shoulders and connected to wires.  These help to record the electrocardiogram (EKG) during the
echocardiography test.  The EKG helps record the timing of various cardiac events, such as the filling and emptying of chambers.  Next, a colorless gel is applied to the chest and the echo
transducer is placed on top of it.  The echo technologist makes recordings from different parts of the chest to obtain several views of the heart. Images of the heart are visible on a monitor during the test and are also recorded on both photographic paper as well as videotape which is then reviewed by the physician prior to completion of the final report.

All of the health care practitioners at Dr. Debin’s office believe in treating the patient as a whole person, not merely as a symptom to be noted, recorded, and eliminated.  Providing general family medicine means that all practitioners are trained to diagnose and treat a wide variety of ailments in patients of all ages, with an emphasis on but not limited to women’s health, maternity care, gerontology, preventative medicine, and behavioral sciences.  At Dr. Debin’s office, patients of all ages suffering from both acute and chronic illness can find relief, preventative care, as well as health education.

Immunotherapy refers to an advanced allergy treatment that ultimately eliminates the need to treat the symptom by eliminating the cause.  While other allergy treatments (such as
antihistamines or corticosteroids) treat only the symptoms of allergic disease and may be the correct choice for ailments such as seasonal allergies, immunotherapy is the only available
treatment that can modify the natural course of the allergic disease.
In the past Immunotherapy involved a series of injections or shots administered regularly, for several years, by an allergy
specialist.  At Dr. Debin’s office we offer sublingual immunotherapy, which the patient administers at home.  The patient places small drops of the medication under the tongue, which
releases tiny amounts of an allergen, with progressively increasing dosages.  Slowly and steadily building resistance to the allergen, the body learns to ignore the allergen and allergy symptoms
 subside or disappear altogether.
Immunotherapy offers allergy sufferers the chance to eventually reduce or stop symptomatic/rescue medication.  The therapy is indicated for people who are
extremely allergic or who cannot avoid specific allergens. For example, they may not be able to live a normal life and completely avoid pollen, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, and certain other common triggers of allergic reactions.

Mammography uses a low-dose x-ray system to examine breasts.  A mammogram is used to aid in the early detection, diagnosis, and screening of breast diseases in women.  Mammography plays a central role in early detection of breast cancers because it can show changes in the breast up to two years before a patient or physician can feel them.  The American College of Radiology (ACR) recommends screening mammography every year for women, beginning at age 40.  Research has shown that annual mammograms lead to early detection of breast cancers, greatly increasing the chances of overcoming breast disease.

Podiatry is a branch of medicine devoted to the study, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle and lower leg.

SCENAR is an acronym for Self-Controlled Energo Neuro Adaptive Regulation, a device that works as a catalyst on the body's immune system.  The SCENAR uses biofeedback, stimulating the nervous system, eventually teaching the body to heal itself.  The SCENAR device is capable of eliminating or relieving acute and chronic pain, and it can be used to treat both repetitive stress injuries and pain-related conditions.  In addition, SCENAR can provide anti-allergic, anti-swelling and anti-inflammatory therapies.  Many severe conditions, such as bronchial asthma or stomach ulcers, can be treated as well.  Furthermore, the SCENAR can accelerate recovery and decrease the negative side effects of certain medications, when combining SCENAR with medication.  Bringing the functions of the bodily organs back to normal and providing general relief and comfort to the patients, the SCENAR can energize and enhance professional, sexual and sport performance.

We offer a variety of in house diagnostic testing allowing our patient's the comfort of having additional testing without the hassle of going to a different facility. We offer: Echocardiograms,
Carotid Ultrasounds, Abdominal Aorta doppler, Arterial/Venous doppler, Thyroid, Prostate & Bladder, Testicular, Pelvic, and all extremities.

Endopat is a vascular test that allows compression on the veins and once released will show readings of the strenght of blood flow and the elasticity of the arteries. This will also allow us to do additional testing for arterial blockage and palque build up.

Ankle Brachial Index tests for peripheral disease, which is the flow and circulation of blood through the legs. This is an additional test to the Endopat.

Carotid Intermedial Thickness is a visual test using an ultrasound that tests for plaque build up or blockages in the arteries, mainly the carotid artery. From this scan we are able to determine how to treat accordingly if there is a current, family, or past history of cardiovascular disease, high bloodpressure and high cholesterol.
